What is the deadline for registering my child?

Registration must be complete and paid in full the Friday morning before each week of camp. We are unable to accept registration any later than 10am Friday before each week of camp.

Does my child need to wear a mask?

We are following the current Department of Education recommendation that: “Children age 5 and older must wear face coverings within the facility as well as outdoors if physical distancing cannot be maintained. Children ages 2-4 are encouraged to wear face coverings. Cloth face coverings should NOT be put on babies and children under 2 years of age….”. If your child cannot wear a face covering you will need to present a signed doctors note before your child may attend camp without their mask. 

How will campers and staff social distance at camp?

At camp we will have small groups and each group will be separate during all activities. Staff and campers will wear face masks when physical distancing is challenging. Activities will be designed to limit high-touch objects and physical interaction. Each camper will have their own cubby to store belongings.

How will camp be cleaned?

Between each group activity, high-touch objects will be cleaned with CDC recommended cleaning agents. Program spaces will be cleaned daily and handwashing will be built into the daily schedule.

 

What programs will be happening at camp?

We are getting creative and keeping as many of the traditional camp activities as we safely can. Arts and Crafts, Archery, Swimming, Boating, Outdoor Education, and Ropes Course are all being adapted to meet CDC, DOE, and American Camping Association standards.

 

How will we drop our kids off for camp?

No matter what time you are dropping your camper off, all campers will be dropped off at the Camp Tracy Lodge. You will have to wear a face covering while checking in your camper. A staff person will be taking camper’s temperatures and asking the following screening questions:

  1. Have you traveled out of state in the last 14 days, arrived from a country with ongoing COVID-19 transmission, or been on a cruise ship or river boat?

  2. Do you have a fever, cough or shortness of breath?

  3. Have you been in direct contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 or being tested for COVID-19?

 

8am drop off: At 8am staff will be at the front of the Lodge. Please wait in your car until a staff person is alone and able to sign your camper in. If your answer is yes to any of the screening questions or if the camper’s temperature is over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit then we will not be able to admit your camper.

 

Extended Care: If you are utilizing our Extended Care program you can drop off your camper between 7am and 8am at the Lodge. There will be a staff person at the front door of the Lodge. Please wait in your car or 6 feet from the front door until the staff person is alone and able to sign your camper in. If your answer is yes to any of the screening questions or if the camper’s temperature is over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit then we will not be able to admit your camper.

 

If you are dropping off or picking up your camper between 8am and 4pm you will need to wait at the Lodge and call 207-465-9261. Visitors, including parents, are not allowed to walk through campus.

 

How will we pick our kids up from camp?

All campers will be picked up from the Camp Tracy Lodge. No matter what time you are picking up your camper, you will need to wear a face covering. You will also need to present a photo ID and be on the approved pick up list for the child to sign out your camper.

 

4pm Pick Up: At 4pm each group will be in their designated space at the Lodge and you will sign out your camper with their counselor.

 

Extended Care: If you are utilizing our Extended Care program you will pick up your camper between 4:15pm and 5:15pm from the Lodge. There will be a staff person at the front door of the Lodge. Please wait in your car or 6 feet from the front door until the staff person is alone.

 

What happens if someone gets sick at camp?

If someone presents with symptoms of COVID19 while at camp they will be isolated until a parent or guardian can pick them up. We will then notify local health officials, staff, and families immediately of a possible case while maintaining confidentiality as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We will close off areas used by a sick person and inform those exposed to a person with COVID-19 to stay home and self-monitor for symptoms, and follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop.

Will there be Parent Nights?

We will be hosting virtual Parent Nights and filming the traditional skits, songs, and Talent Shows to share with families instead of having in-person Parent Nights.

 

How can I help?

You can help by teaching your child CDC recommending handwashing habits, the importance of social distancing, and by sending them to camp with the items on the packing list. We also ask for your patience while we make these adjustments.

What should my child bring to camp? 

Your child should come with a swimsuit, towel, close toed shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, and sweatshirt. Campers should have sunscreen applied before arriving and will be reminded to reapply throughout the day. 

What is the refund policy?

Fees are non-refundable within 48 hours of the program weeks start.

What if my child takes medication daily? Each camper is required to complete a Medical History form which lists all prescription and/or over-the-counter medication. Medication must be provided in its original container with the prescription information clearly labeled. Do not send medication that is not prescribed for your child.

 

Do campers need to bring money?
No. Campers are provided with all meals and snacks and there is no camp store. 

What if my child is hurt during the camp?
We have a fully trained and certified health care staff on duty at all times and overnight staff are all trained and certified in First Aid and CPR. Our staff will contact parents/guardians  in the case of any illnesses or injuries.

What happens if it rains?
Residential campers utilize the indoor facilities at the Alfond Youth Center while Day Campers utilize the various  indoor facilities at Camp Tracy.
